Most popular music software for remixes - some stats

3 posts in this topic

Hey folks,

for anyone wondering what software people are using for remixes have a look at this:

http://ccmixter.org/.../extras/poundon

It shows the keywords that artists on ccmixter.org have linked to their profiles and tunes. From a quick glance the top ten are:

1. Ableton Live

2. Reason

3. Acid/Acid Pro

4. FL Studio/ Fruity Loops

5. Cubase

6. Audacity

7. Logic

8. Pro Tools

9. Garageband

10. Sonar

Although heartening for the 'real' muso's out there that the number 1 keyword by far is 'guitar', closely followed by 'vocal' ;)

Interesting. Is Reason a remix-friendly work environment? I presume it is these days, but I never felt it used to be.
