So its official now, I will be moving to London in May this year. May 29th, 9:15am to be exact.

Ill be travelling through Asia for a few months before hand first, eventually ending up in London somewhere around mid August.

I booked my one way, non refundable ticket to Bangkok yesterday, and im preparing to tell my boss I will be resigning soon.

The ball is rolling

Top stuff in making it happen, one of those things you'd be kicking yourself if you didn't, and the experience you have will be life changing/shaping.

Hah no he's not ..

Yea, iv been trying to go for the last 5 years , but there has been something every year that stopped me..

• Met my girlfriend (who iv now been with for 5 years)
• Got a good job with a big bank
• Bought a house
• Got another good job with another big bank
• Promotions, cooler job roles etc

This year though .. iv been keeping my head low .. I dont want anything else to come along that could change my mind ... Ironically I was offered another job a few weeks ago and I had to make the decision .. stay or go .. I turned it down , and im going
The other big thing is, its taken me 3 years to get my girlfriend to agree to it ... I told her last year, I would go this year with or without her as its something I needed to do in my life, and she's fully onboard with it now .. so that's worked out ..

Heading to thailand first ... spending a week or so in bangkok then onto Laos ... spending about a month there, then heading back to indonesia to met up with a friend who is a diving instructor and lives on one of the islands there ... going to stay with him for a bit , go diving, chill out on some beaches ... see some more of indonesia, then end up in London somewhere in August .. Iv got two friends who have been travelling south America for the last year, and they're going to come live with us in London ... Hopefully meeting up at the same time in August.

I dont plan on working in the banking sector overseas .. im going to do something a bit more fun, and less serious , work in some smaller , design oriented companies, preferably with some people around my own age for once.... something I don't have to wear a suit and tie everyday.. and just travel around europe some more ... that's the idea really , to see some more of Europe .... work - travel - work - travel etc ..

Its all exciting ... but its also a bit daunting, iv got to rent out my apartment, and store all my stuff somewhere, leave a good paying job for potentially half the money elsewhere .. as much as it guts me to do it , Ill probably sell all my production gear as i don't know when ill be back ..

Probably worth noting , that nothing will change for soundpunk ... the site will run as normal, except ill be maintaining it and doing my usual things at different times then i do now ... The site is currently hosted in a data center in Brisbane, and will be at least until 2014 , which is when iv paid up until .. so dont worry, I wont be moving it to the UK.

Sounds like a brilliant move mate! Good luck with everything! I made the same move in Sept last year, travelled South America then arrived in London 2 weeks ago. Be prepared for the start of winter when you arrive though!

Sweet, that sounds awesome ...

Yea, August should be too bad for weather, but it'll start getting cold after that I imagine.... Hopefully our winter clothes will arrive before that happens
