This is the one with dual stereo processors, yeah? So allows for, say, a dedicated stereo reverb *and* another stereo effect to be used simultaneously?

Pretty sure it's still only dual mono or stereo, spec

Nah, the MPX1 is the one I'm thinking of...
http://www.lexiconpr...oduct.php?id=14

"The MPX 1 Multi-Effects Processor fulfills the promise implied by the term "multi-effects." When summoned to do their best reverb, most single DSP multieffect processors run out of gas — you don't get additional effects. The MPX 1 has Lexicon's own proprietary Lexichip, dedicated to delivering uncompromised Lexicon stereo reverb or ambience, in addition to another processor to create the other digital effects. So you get your best reverb, at all times, along with as many as 4 additional stereo effects."

So while only 2 inputs (unlike the DP4 with 4 inputs), it does then have the awesome ability to run a stereo reverb output *plus* another stereo effect output from discrete (albeit mono) inputs simultaneously. I remember when I purchased my MPX 500 (which looks the part with all LCD and tons of knobs) it was MPX 1 that was the better unit to get 'cause it essentially 2 x stereo effects units, rather than 1 x stereo or 2 x mono (which I never use). The MPX1 is also said to have superior reverb algorithms too, but hey it also cost around 50% more so I skimped and went the MPX 500 and settled with just running its reverb on its own, nothing more.

Anyway, sorry to hijack your thread Luke with a tyre kick, just remember this bit of kit being on my wish list when I was shopping effects.

No sweat

Well it has separate dsp chips for reverb and effects so it makes sense
I just wanted reverb so i didnt get too deep with anything else

Yeah, sorry Luka - no argument it's stereo. It's either stereo in/out, or dual mono in + dual mono out, or dual mono in + stereo out.

Spec - the MPX500, at least with the firmwares i'm running, offers 2 stereo effects from mono inputs (which i call 'dual mono'). The advantage of the MPX1, after further reading, was the ability to add a total of 1 reverb and 4 effects in dual mono. Thats much much closer to a TC Electronic Fireworx without the routing matrix of the Fireworx... but with the superior (IMO) Lexicon verb.

I've got a FireWorx and 2 MPX500's and the 500's have a much nicer reverb. The MPX1 builds on that so the price Luka is asking is very very reasonable. If i wasn't already banned from buying new music toys, i'd be snaffling this one up!

My gear is all stacked up in a wardrobe so I can't quite get to it right now, but you're talking just the 'dual programs' patches yeah? So these will do take 2 different inputs, run through separate effects, then output it all in stereo? Somehow I thought these output mono. But if one wants these dual effects, one's limited to just these particular programs, yeah? So one doesn't get the full reverb options/sound from the primary set of reverbs, and then adds another effect? Or does it allow that? Google or my own bloody manual would probably help me too.

Haha, and I was about to dob you in as a likely buyer contender too! :)

^^^ Cool, thought you might have grabbed this one.

S/PDIF is the way to go IMO, for uber clean output when integrated with a DAW.

Yes it does.

Manual can be grabbed from Lexicon MPX1 Manual

Would be the recommend way to set it up to bypass the A/D's imho.
