The new site is very much community profile oriented, your accounts and profiles do a lot more now than just allowing you to post in the forums.
Can I please ask that you edit your profiles and update your information.
Things that need updating:
- New avatar if yours is stretched (you can use bigger images now)
- Your birth year (Apprently everyone is over 2000 years old currently)
- Your profile picture, this is NOT your avatar, it is used as your status update image, and also used in other locations to identify you, this can be a larger image than your forum avatar.
- Your about me section, write a small blurb about your self
- Your signature, some peoples signatures didn’t come across to he new system properly. Its best to delete your signature and create a new one.
- People can add you to their friends list (this functionality will allow to subscribe to only your friends posts and files in the next phases)
- Once the file management system goes in, people will be able to find any files you’ve submitted through your profile page, no more searching forums. You can just give friends the link to your profile
- Blogs, Articles and Forum posts you’ve contributed in will be listed under your profile.
- Your status updates can be managed through your profile
Inshort, the new profile system works alot like facebook, its your identity and allows people (and Search engines) to find information about you and what you do on this site.
