So, can you get me an iPhone 4 Speccy?
I've really got to have one... it is the best fone... because when you press the bottom of it the antenna shorts and it drops out. That'll give me ultimate control to cut people off mid call without even needing to press a button. A stroke of pure genius by Jobs and his crack team of crackheads.

two of my mates lined up last night at the telstra store ... 1 of them got all the way to the front and was told by a Telstra rep that he had a bad credit rating with them and would not be permitted to buy the phone (with contract) he tried everything but walked away empty handed while the other mate waved his new phone in his face ...
The dumbasses lining up at the apple store waiting till 8am must of had the shits watching people walk away from the Telstra store at midnight with their new phones..

Hang on, people line up all night for a gadget? This is a freakin' cult!
With the iPad, i pre-ordered and it was delivered to my door on the day of release by 10am. That's a civilised time to roll out of bed and answer the door to get a gadget. Waiting in line at all is for suckers and douche bags.

Insane.
At 6:30pm close last night, people began cueing, then as the staff were leaving they were asked whether they could sit inside the shop overnight (while no staff were there) and apparently serious about it. The same people then asked whether we could drag out our store chairs out and leave them in the laneway beside the shop. Um no. Anyway, seems they gave up and left soon after.
By 7am, there was a queue of around 30 people, with the people up front having queued since 5am. Store opened at 8am. By around 9am, we would have topped around 50 to 70 people in the queue, but many disbanded it once we established exactly how far up the queue we could cover with physical stock that day. From there on, it was order online, courier it out in 2 to 10 days. But those that waited originally were served after around 4 hours wait, those getting there at 9 served in around 3 hours.
With around 13 staff rostered across the 13hrs trade, and 5 shop floor computers plus one out the back, by 5pm, we had connected around the same contracts in 9 hours that we would connect in 7 days. Absolutely crankin'!!! Systems got hammered, so getting SIM swaps (damn micro SIMs) done for every upgraded customer was taking up to an hour. No doubt there'll be people who busted their chops to get one only to not be able to use it until their SIM swap's actioned some days later.
Oh, I got to hold one today, stick a micro-SIM in it and turn it on. Nice, if the 3GS can be likened to an iBook/MacBook, then the 4 is certainly reminiscent in form factor of a Mac Book Pro. Only booted to the 'hook up to iTunes' page.
Hmmm.... Might have to get one.
iPhone 4... now with Video Calling*
(*only on WiFi)

^ ;D It is kinda crazy given the known issues with it. That's some seriously good brainwashing... ooops... marketing. I'll probably up my jobs gizz consumption and get one eventually... but not until the next version release when the initial design issues are fixed. If they don't fix them then i'm gonna have to pass up on another mouth full of jobs love.

Yeah, I knew the day would be huge, but to see it play out was still awe inspiring, that a single company with a single (mobile) product could prove just so insanely popular, that people would lose sleep, miss work, forget lectures, stress out over overdue accounts needing to be paid first, break contracts with a year to go, just to get a new phone.
I couldn't help but feel awkward greeting those ever-so-enthusiastic queue-goers who just wanted to enquire re the 'free bumpers' Apple are handing out to save their ass on a mass worldwide recall.
Anyway, supposedly the 'death grip' is a emerging as possible issue across many brands/models.
Or better still, what about a jam donut, or even Apple's greatest competitor, the Banana!
Or is it just apparent in a weak signal area? I look forward to getting our demo up and running today and we'll do our own primitive tests...
If nothing else, the stainless steel + glass case looks mighty perrrrty.

Which website was that?
As far as I know, on Vodafone, online new customer contract connection orders (from their website) are still being processed for 16GB and 32GB models. The stock is being pulled out of the next week's backorder delivery, so the wait to get it couriered is up to 10 days.
Once this is gone, no more orders will be accepted until more stock can be secured (might be 3 weeks?), and the wait could even blow out to a month or so before many stores see their first lot of stock.
I wonder how many a day Apple's tireless (and suicidal
