Are they going to lock it down to Avid systems? If they do, it sux.

Well M-Audio didn't get locked down, making it more capable than Digidesign-I-mean-AVID's own 'LE' hardware.
But did it make M-Audio better? Serious question. Will be interesting to see what eventuates. I'm keen to see pro-grade controllers for domestic settings. Just building the controller facias from metal rather than plastic would be a good start.

Personally I would love an Artist series desk integrated with (and supported by) Pro Tools. They are really well built and MUCH sexier than my Command|8 ???
