So iv just setup a new Windows 7 box,  gone to install my Motu ultralight,  get the latest drivers from the site and its installed,  except now i have this loud robotic buzzing everytime I do anything that involves sound.  itunes, youtube etc.  I dont actually get any real sound out of it, just this buzzing.

Anyone got any ideas ?

Hmmm! Does the buzz kick in and out in lieu of the sound that should be there? As in, play mp3, buzz, stopp mp3 no buzz? And does the buzz pulse or change in response to the sound that ought to be there or is it just a constant and unchanging thing?

Yep , it kicks in when sound should be ...  it doesnt appear to be pulsating or anything with the sound ...  the levels are at hard max with it happens ...    theres no movement ,  its basically constant ..

I actually thought about trying to record it some how,  then side chain compress it to some fat beat , pitch bending it here and there... Its like the most thick deep buzzing/humming sound ,  I can even make bass sound like that if I tried ..

Hmmm beleive it or not , uninstalling the software ,  disconnecting the MOTU ,  re-installing the software,  replugging the MOTU and letting it auto install , then rebooting fixed the issue ...

Im playing iTunes through my monitors now ....  Now , will my sequencer work with it ...  fingers crossed.

So, what you're saying is Windows is still Windows. There's a surprise.

And yes, i did just punch myself in the face... and pull my skivvy over my head after tipping my chai latte decafe down my own pants.

Good that it's working. I'm sure just like previous versions, now it's working it'll stay working.

Even after the next incremental update? Oh yeah, of course it will. It's a 'doze.

Oh noes!!!

Original Ultraliteinnit? Firmware running v1.15? Um... Not set to internal sync or anything? Can you run it at different sample rates, or does the ASIO driver do the same thing as WMP?

Yea, its original baby ...

Yep running 1.15 ,  I dont think so .. You mean clock sync?

Havnt tried different sample rates,  ill try that tonight .. it was driving me nuts last night.

I even switched between two different 1394 Adapters ...  using a powered PCI 1934 card now ...  Did the same with the onboard ..

i put windoze 7 on my mac yesterday used vista drivers for my FA 66..  asio drivers worked fine in soundforge ... but the system sounds (media player, itunes, vlc ), ableton, cubase simply refuse to work using the dx or asio drivers..  so friggen strange that only one app will work with sound and nothing else not even onboard sound will work..

and i wonder why i went to OS X i have REAL plug and play through core audio at least

If you switch clock to external it'll be looking for an external clock to generate the sample rates. You'll need to leave the Clock/Address set to internal unless you slave the Ultralite off another SMPTE time source.

still stuck with this ...  I dont want to slave the clock to another device .. (and i shouldnt have to)

The ultralite still works fine with my macbook pro , just not on Windows 7.  Everyone else seems to be using the same drivers on Win7 with no problems ... :D
