This thing is pretty exciting, I recommend everyone watches the video (via the link) to see what its all about because its a pretty revolutionary instrument. I just wish the big one wasn't so damn expensive!

Love the idea of controlling a filter with a mouth piece while playing. So many cool possibilities...

I'm pretty damn keen on getting one of these. I think I'd actually prefer the pico but, the alpha is just crazy overkill. I love how the buttons can 'bend', so you could map that to pitch bend and get really fine vibrato happening. Breath controlling the amp envelope and pressure controlling filter cutoff. Or something like that!

The most important thing about this is going to be the protocol they use to actually talk to the software in your computer. MIDI is not going to cut it. Info about that here: http://createdigital...soon/#more-7909
I was a bit worried at first with no info on the protocol, and mac only, it sounded like you were going to be limited to their software. Very happy to hear it will be open source, that will open up so many possibilities.

Scratch that, I just saw this video and now I want the alpha:

Step sequencer, percussion buttons... wow.

But I'm never going to have $6000 to spend on a controller I don't think. Every time my piggy bank got to about $2k I'd just buy another synth  :D.

that's the vid i linked to! its pretty amazing, but i agree, you'd have to be pretty keen to spend that kind of cash. maybe if you mastered the mini one first, you might feel the urge.

Haha sorry! I didn't click you're link cause I'd seen some other stuff and thought I knew what was what. I hadn't quite grasped the possibilities though.

I can only hope that the future will bring more instruments like this, that beg to be played and mastered.
