Anyone been playing with the new plugs in PT8?
Boom?
Xpand2?
Eleven Free?
Vacuum?
What are your thoughts?

Boom? - Useful but not great. No ability to get your MIDI patterns exported. No direct outs. No sample import. This is just a token instrument to flesh-out their free, included instruments. Anyone used to working with Ultrabeat will scoff at this Digi/Air toy.
Xpand2? - Great sound. Still not all that programmable but enough sample choices to get something useful and tweak to suit. I tend to use it for basses. I like it.
Don't forget to check out the Mini Grand and the DB33 organ/Leslie emulator. They're excellent too. Great sound.
Don't know about the others yet. Had a brief bang on Vacuum. Basic, but gritty as I recall.

ooh don't ignore vacuum... Some real dirty bass from that one.
The new AIR plugs are cool too. Its nice to have an alternative to D-Verb in the box now for one. I've also thrashed the filter and LO-FI. Has anyone had a play with these?

Hey Niktu - good feedback. Fair points on Boom.
My only thought is to keep in mind who the "target audience" is for it - we have transfuzer and strike and structure for the more advanced users, I think Boom is great as a "get me going I want some beats" entry into drum "psuedo-programming" without too much confusion for the novice.
