Hi everybody
I just bought an mbox mini last week, i wanna use it with pro tools but i would also like to use it with ableton live stand alone for some dj-ing.
On ableton live preferences i set the Digidesign ASIO driver as the output and i do get sound working properly, the bad thing here is that i dont see the headphone out output of the mbox mini so i can use it to monitor my loops before they go out to the speakers. I only get 1/2 and 1 outputs, but i dont get the 3/4 outputs so i can acomplish this.
Does the mbox only has 1 output out? or is there something wrong with the digidesign ASIO driver settings?
If there is no way i can acomplish headphone monitoring only using the mbox is there any way i can use the mbox for output and my laptop's native soundcard as the headphone monitor out on ableton or any other program? like if i had 2 outputs?
I dont want to use the headphone of the mbox as a monitor, i wanna use it to preview the mix im making before it goes out to the speakers. Like you do on a mixer. Yes, i do have a mixer but how do i setup everything together to have 2 stereo outputs?
I know the mbox mini has 2 outputs but as far as i can see they are 2 mono outputs which toghether become 1 stereo output. This doesnt help me since i want to have 1 stereo output and one headphone output to preview the mix.
I shouldnt need a mixer if i could route everything right with ableton live but i only get 1/2 outputs froim the mbox mini instead or 1/2 and 3/4
Is there any way, like using a driver or something that allows me to see the outputs from native sound card and my mbox so i can assign the mbox for speakers output and my laptops soundcard as my headphones output?
Can somebody help? I would really appreciate it!
2 outputs 1 for speakers 1 for headphones Ableton Live & M-Box 2 Mini outputs

Taking a look at the MBox2 Mini specs from the Digidesign site...

Two simultaneous analog inputs and outputs
One XLR analog input for connecting a microphone
Two ¼” line-/instrument-level (DI) analog inputs for connecting guitars, basses, keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines, and more.
...it does have *2* outputs, that is, left + right = 2. It doesn't help if you're coming from a DJ background (where DJs make up their own definitions eg. 'upfaders' anyone?!! :wtf: ) and you're expecting 2 outputs to equal 2 *stereo* outputs, 2 x left + right, which in fact is 4 outputs.
To put it simply, you have the wrong interface for the job. Can you exchange it?
If you must stick with Digidesign, then even the regular Mbox won't be up to the task with physically 2 inputs + 2 outputs. You'll need to step up to Mbox 2 Pro for 4 analogue inputs (2 x stereo) and 6 analogue outputs (3 x stereo).

And if you must stick with Pro Tools, then try an 'M-Powered' M-Audio interface, which opens up a world of possibilities (and quite possibly for less money).
Also, I see you've cross-posted across the forum (naughty naughty!). But as I'm not sure exactly where this go either, so let's cross-post this reply, eh?!
