I've been trying to figure out a good solution for Ableton Live synced with Traktor. Right now, my friend and I both manipulate Traktor Scratch on a WinXP PC, but I also have a OS X laptop and I'd like to use both computers for the same set at the same time (this would prevent overloading the CPU). Without using a JazzMutant device of some sort, can I synchronize the Ableton computer with the Traktor computer over the ethernet, or will I have to purchase an external MIDI interface of some sort. If the latter is true, what's the best (and cheapest) external MIDI device out there?
Note: I have an Audio 8 DJ as well, can I use the MIDI stuff on there for anything or does that need to be looped so Traktor can send MIDI clock data?

hey mate how are ya
you could try using something like http://www.nerds.de/en/ipmidi.html for midi over ethernet
i have traktor + ableton sync'd (on the same putey) via virtual midi ports n such which you could look into
also as you said you can just get a midi interface for the non-audio dj8 computer and just do it that way
thing there are a few tutorials out there that show how to do it i'll have a hunt around if you want!
