Given that SP have a greater than average female membership...

9.2:1 m/f ratio compared with the 10:1 ratio of the 'industry average' (still way lame)  ...

Here's a site devoted to women's engagement in electronic music.

Specifically covers careers and education resources for female musicians, but also has a lot of good general info on the history of electronic music, algorithmic music resources, interviews etc.
