It is frustrating having to overwrite presets; I hate it with a passion. However, this compare option is available on the Blofeld. I think it's been there since near the beginning, because my manual talks about it, and it works nicely.

Standard on Waldorf gear.

Cuteness getting excited about compare function on synths - I'm sure it's been around since the start of digital programmable synths. The DX-7 has a compare button!

^^^ Wonder where Yamaha lost their way then.

My AN1x lets me compare just the patch names prior to saving...

...'cause there's nuttin' worse than overwriting a patch with a really great name. :bang:

(Unless I've overlooked something? Jester? Jude? Anyone?)

Ok, so I've heard that the desktop Blofeld already has the sample memory included and that the upgrade is going to be software only. True? Warezable? Not that I'd recommend or advise it but I do wonder if this will eventuate.....?

The Blofeld sample option, or Licence SL, as they like to call it, is about to arrive!  This is an unlock code system for releasing new firmware updates which access 60MB of sample RAM.

A factory sample set is included with the installer, and a sample manager GUI is due in July.

 RRP is $179.00

In the archive section of the Waldorf site you will find a folder called Spectre (are you noticing a theme here?), which contains a public beta version of the Blofeld sample content manager.

^^^ Exxy given the total cost of the product, but tantalizing nonetheless. :)

largo 30 day demo available from waldorf atm .. it's pretty good .. the filters are sublime for software .. actually waldorf filters are just plain good whatever they are in ..

spectre / blofeld still uses SDS (3 kb/s) i mean how hard is it to allow sample upload via usb? do we still live in the 80's?

>Do we still live in the 80s?<

Judging by the way folks chase down those old synths i'd say yes!

The sample load process is a lengthy one, but I put some killer waves into my Blo and it's doing some great things

Hey HPS, did a OS-X editor ever show up for this thing? Just so happened to have done some wheeling and dealing on some old camera gear and finally have a Blofeld on its way. :)
