N NEED OF HELP! Key Commands
When I press these keys nothing happens on my mac G4 using Cubase 4.
F1 =
F2 =
F3 =
Also when pressing F11 my mac separates the screens. I don’t see the VST instruments at all. Unless I get it from the pull down menu.
F12 =activates my mac dashboard menu (i.e. calculator,date,time)

I did see old postings of shortcuts, however i didn't see anything to correct or bypass mac features. :-

For the Apple bit:
System Preferences -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard Shortcuts

For the Cubase bit:
Gonna have to hand it over to the experts (HPS, Cheyne, anyone else?)

And welcome to the 'Punkhood. ;)

Yeah, good point. On the laptops, the fn key allows the function keys otherwise assigned to screen brightness, sound volume etc to be used as proper function keys. Not sure what happens with the F11 and F12 keys though. I've disabled those two in the preferences.

You could also try this  (i wouldnt recommend actually sticking them to your keyboard though) just use them as a reference http://www.soundpunk...x.php?topic=227

Yep, Cheyne is correct. You have to use the Fn key. Or enable the F1 to F12 from System Pref, disable Expose and other commands attached to the function keys by default.
