Im just starting to have a play around with ableton and im using impulse for my drums... Ive got a small problem though. Ive been using FL since i started and assigning fx to each sample is easy... But how do i assign fx to the individual samples that i have in impulse? Ive dragged some audio samples into impulse, created my drum pattern with a kick, hi hat and clap, but how do i then go and add for example, some compression to the kick, some eq to the hi hats and some reverb to the clap?
The only thing i can do is add an audio effect into impulse but that effects each sample in impulse..
Im sure theres a simple answer to this but im just starting to use ableton more at the moment

are you using live 6 or 7?
7 has drum racks which allow for that
in 6 what you can do is either
using a new audio channel grab the audio in from your impulse track, and you'll notice you can choose the specific sounds, ie kick, hats etc, that way you can set up each impulse sound into a new audio channel and have a unique effect on each sound
or create a simpler rack from each drum sound, using the key map and midi scale you can have different keys setting of different samples and then each sample can have its own chain of effects
if neither of those makes sense PM and i'll send you a couple of project files set up for each option

yeah im using 7.
ahh i see.. so a drum rack can be used just like impulse but it allows you to add different audio effects onto each sample u drop into the rack itself?
