So this is more of a curiosity thing .. And it half works , but i thought id throw it out there and see if theres any answers.
The MOTU Ultralight has 2 x 1394 ports , either or which can be used to connect to the Computer host, so when I have a laptop and a PC that I want to use the Ultralight for , is it possible to connect both the PC and Laptop to each 1394 port ?
Iv already tried it , and the answer is .. sort of ...(;D) It kind of picks half of each .. It would play a second of music and then blank out , then another second and blank out ... the same happened on the other machine ... Its probably wishful thinking to think you could use both at the same time , but I figure if it half works , maybe theres an answer , or some sort of switch ... or maybe not .. Im guessing theres some sort of Sync in place that prevents it working , but I thought use you can use the ultralight as a standalone mixer, maybe you could use it this way ..
Anyone experimented with this ? .. Mr Motu (Ehsan) , am I just talking rubbish ?

I think the second Firewire port is intended for daisy-chaning another interface. I imagine it's not too happy trying to talk to two machines at once!

It is , its meant to join up a 2nd unit to make the full Rack unit ..
It isnt really happy with it , but I was wondering if there was any ability to use it like this ... Im guessing not

I do believe not at all sir. Interesting idea and potentially a good way to root your equipment!
