Alrighty a question for any (ex?)creamware users here,
i'm running a luna II with the SFP right, now I'm NOT running in XTC mode.
The irritation is, every time i start cubase it pops up an Info box telling me "XTC plugins are not available while another CreamWare application is running." - and i have to click "OK" to continue. yes it's very ok.
I have moved the XTC plugs to a possy on the computer where they are nowhere NEAR the vst plugs folder and still the message persists.
It's not dealbreaking, but every time i start the cuborage i have to click "OK" in that info box and it's shitting me up the wall. I've never run the scope in XTC mode, or wanted to, and it seems ridiculous to have this freaking message every time. more to the point tho.... why doesn't removing the plugs work???
off to investigate. if someone has been through this before though i'll like, be real nice or something.

woop think i've solved it.. configuration on soundcard end not host.
actually enabled the XTC for a trial since if i'm gonna be bitter i'd better have a taste, and it's not sooo bad except it disables the audio inputs
would be fine if i had another soundcard :/
oh and to get the XTC plugs to show up i had to move them out from the install folder c:prog~stein~VstPluginsXTCetc...
to c:prog~stein~VstPlugins
doh!
edit: ahhhh audio inputs just enabled themselves again. oh you weird old gear :/

mehhhhhh the included modular synth plugin doesn't appear to run at all in xtc mode :/ fuck that for a joke.
edit: so ahhhh.... there's a whole lot of other creamware devices (instruments) that apparently will run fine in XTC mode (prodyssey, minimax, vectra etc) but not the Modular that comes with it? whattapain.

anyway i'm having fun.
you know i might just stick with this xtc thing after all since the inputs just enabled themselves..sometimes you just gotta talk yourself through things you know
edit: ARRRRGH input latency is dynamically increased depending on how much DSP you're using.

ehhh this xtc mode is kinda balls. for one thing it doesn't support off-line render, only realtime.
with xtc plugins running using about 1 dsp (of 3) total, host cpu spiking at 3/4 & averaging less than half, i still get errors and glitches in my realtime bounce on certain cpu-spiking moments.
losing the sfp mixer also bites as it means only one app can talk to the soundcard at any given moment. so if you want to listen to a bounce outside of the host you have to quit the host :/ i quite liked bouncing down and given it a listen through mediaplayer while the cuborage sits idle waiting for me to jump back in.
mmmmm eeehhhh decisions decisions. is it worth it for one (admittedly quite nice sounding) reverb and another (admittedly quite clean and smooth) eq?
hmm. i'm thinking i'll just go back native at this point unless i can resolve bounce issues. but realtime bounce only.... what a freaking pain. generally for each finished tune i have there will be at least one point where the cpu crunches for a moment - nary a second - but rt bounce means i can't do that at all any more, and the scope dsps unfortunately aren't going to cut down on guitar rig usage. unless i replace alllll my verbs and eqs with scope... meh meh meh meh meh.

lol love talking to yourself eh i found XTC to be a pain in the ass used once maybe twice never again was worth the extra messing around loading a synth into sfp for the flexibilty and stability loosing all SFP functionality using xtc sucked it was flakey at best
