How do I use it?

The manual says I need to create one in the (dreaded) environment, which I did. I tried wiring it to my external synth object but I get nothing when I hit the keys. I know the sequencer needs to be running.

yeah he makes some good points, environments not too scary once you've had someone show you around....

Full on! I spent half my afternoon in ecstatic joy having revelation after revelation. What a fucking legend. He makes nice tunes, too :(

I was asking in the feedback forum if it would be cool to link to him in here or in the tutes forum. I was ready to go back to stupid mouse addicted ablertronz (as if my hungry two headed snake doesn't eat enough!) before pan_down told me his name. Thanks dude ;)

i went through them myself to set up external synths but didn't get much joy
i might have another try tonight but logic seemed to be receiving a bunch of midi data from my korgs when they were stopped, and midi out > sound in wasn't happening

so i ended up revising my ableton template for my motu and otuboard midi , works a treat.

wish i could get the same results in logic..

Definitely watch the enviroment tutes and if you have any questions, just post them on youtube and he'll reply. You definitely should be able to sort it out.

Where Logic shits all over Live is in editing and arranging, but perhaps I best not start that debate and say both are good for different things and I continue to use both.

yeah, know how you feel about the ext synth / midi thing. I've had all sorts of issues trying to get my synths mapped properly and not much help from anyone. i ended up spending a lot of time on it but getting some good results in the end so if you want to add some more details about what you are trying to set up i can give it a whirl for you....

I've got my korg er then ea then tr707 all off my ultralight, on channels 1, 2, 10
I set up the external instruments in logic as per tute so each on its channel
then set up the audio ins from ultralight

sound was coming through fine when i started the korgs but couldnt seem to send midi to them to play sounds or get them to stop start from transport controls via logic

so any pointers on that would be great
