G'day All,
I'm also looking for someone who really knows their way around logic, midi and preferably machinedrum to help me get my setup finalized. I've recently incorporated the md and an analogue synth into my rig after previously only using vsts etc.. I've got basic communication happening but there's a few issues with midi and i'd really like some help getting the environment and bussing set up properly in logic. Am happy to pay for someone's time, please shoot me a pm if you are interested,
cheers,
ben

Did you have any luck getting the MD to sync and play along with the sequencer? I can't even get that happening

Ya make a midi track, set it to the correct Midi output, and then adjust the audio delay for recording the resulting audio....
shoot me a PM or email [email protected] for specific answers.

Cheers Rich,
I've pretty much got that far, but have been advised by many that using the MD clock is the way forward so am looking to somehow just sync the transport controls and also learn how to make the most of the various outputs on the box. On top of that, the moog is doing some fucked up shit midi wise and i can't work out how to fix up the mappings. It will not receive velocity info from logic and tweaking knobs on the synth is wreaking havoc in my arrange window.... Have read the manuals but can't find the right info so far...

While i feverishly research Ben's problem - here something i'd recommend for all Logic 8 users:
grab the Future Music #195 mag for the videos on the DVD.
They basically run thru a few awesome things and a few straightforward things but for new users it will clear up a lot of confusion.
For me it cleared up Delay Designer, something i hadn't really touched yet - and loaded me full of ideas and inspiration for the Ultrabeat step sequencer automation possibilities - madness!
It's like the first music mag i've ever bought - maybe they have these vids every month, i dunno - but it certainly makes shit a lot easier if you can watch it being done in front of you.
Now back to pan_down's MD woes...

Happy to announce I sorted out my MD sync problems: hadn't set my synchronization settings telling Logic to send MIDI clock and MMC signals to my MIDI interface. Thanks to Robbilates
