G'day All,
can anyone recommend an adapter for syncing tempo on a 303 through midi? I've been told this is possible but can't find one so far. will be using a borrowed unit so not keen to get it modified, just wondering what the options are? [ have googled etc but not come up with much ]. i believe it can be synced to a 707 or the like but was hoping for a cheaper alternative.

This would be your cheapest option!

Otherwise get something like this for about $60

Novation DrumStation, Xbase-09 all have din sync out
Dedicated MIDI/CV boxes like the
Kenton Pro-2000, Pro-solo and Frostwave Quad Midi/CV can generate DIN SYNC.
The 707 doesn't convert MIDI clock to DIN SYNC. It can only be a slave of either or be the master for both. Although i think you can if use tape sync.
Cheers

I was going to bid on this but now I have to spend my money on other stuff
You might as well:

I already enquired about postage to Aus and it's US$30
Its primary role is as a MIDI-CV converter but has a Din Sync24 output as well. That means you can also use it to control a pre-midi synth. A good investment for the future!

the korg kms-30 is great, if you can find one. otherwise those inline converters looks the goods, anything that doesnt need an external power supply is a bonus.

the seller "touchprone" on ebay often sells cheap din-midi convertors that don't need a power supply, I use his din splitter box and it works a treat, and he is from Ballarat.
I think they go for $80

I haven't tried the midi convertor, but I have the dinsync splitter and it works fine.
I wouldn't trust it for a live setup though, better off with a kenton or something similar.
