Seriously is a ink jet printer with CD print capability that much more inconvenient???
Unless that Casio thing is like $40 and the tape refills are less than $10 i dont see it lighting fires in anyones loins.
I paid less than $150 for a canon multifunction that prints on CD's and does awesome photo prints as well as scanning and copying. That was nearly 2 years ago and they have come down a whole lot since then.
The lightscribe idea is a cool one but like Decon suggests, media is a bit thin on the ground. Saying that though, my local JB HIFI has the media and i can pick up a lightscribe drive rather cheaply so i might give it a go in the new year.
Edit: i just saw that it will cost $60. I still think its rather gimmicky though. Especially when a half decent multifunction will print CD's
Gotta agree here ... I bought a full photo printer that handle's CD's for $200 .. it does complete photo print onto blank CD tops , and this is about all i use it for.. I dont just print labels onto my CD's , i print entire photos and artwork , professional looking cd's ... Most CD's now are ink jet printable for this reason..
This thing would only really be good for portable use , stash it away if your on the road and print out some CD's ... other than that an average printer would be of more use .
