rather then starting a whole thread ill bump this one..
im going to buy a new comp next year and get a set up going in my room.. when i also need is a table/desk!!
what dimensions do you think are needed.. at work, i have my 22inch widescreen on my desk and my desks about 900 deep.. i love the room i have so im thinking that i want a desk about 900 deep, and im also keeping in mind that ill want some hardware later on, so i want room for a keyboard to go infront of me..
im also thinking about width and at the moment my work desks 1800 wide, i dont need this much room cos i dont have this much room in my bedroom lol, but i was looking on ebay and some desks are only 900 wide, i think this is too small, suggestions on this?

I thought it best to start a new topic after all, thinking this deserves it's own thread, leaving just studio photos in the "Post A Pic" thread. Hope you're cool with it, Adamwah.

And to answer you question with some more questions...
- How much physical space do you have from left to right in your room to put this thing?
- What size (how many keys) MIDI-controller/synth keyboard are you considering?
- How were you thinking of mounting your monitors? (On floor stands? On desk stands?)
I would have thought there'd be 1200mm desks around. Mine's probably one of the narrowest that people would be using, at around 770mm, but suits me perfectly for a laptop and 37-note controller.
Also, consider a slide-out shelf to house either the QWERTY keyboard or MIDI keyboard.

My minds set on the Freedom Apex desk with the glass top not the crappy wood laminate one, its so dreamy at $249
ill post a pic when i get it
/undertaking room makeover, lol
p.s. i fucking HATE slide out keyboard drawers, when i type like a hardcore l33t mofo the thing tends to slide back in away from me, i have a bluetooth mouse and a bluetooth keyboard, and if i could id get bluetooth EVERYTHING, great for uncluttering tables
p.p.p.s these are great for tidying cables...

Yeah, fair call, especially with regards to a QWERTY keyboard where ideally it needs to extend out and lock into place.
However, the weight of the controller keyboard seems to hold the slide-out steady at any extension. I often only have just the keys poking out from under the desk, ensuring I'm not having to reach too far to the laptop above it. If I want to access the controller keyboard's knobs/sliders, I just pull it out a bit further. Works great.
Nice cable tidy too. I'm using those a combination of those 3M clips things with the removable adhesive tabs (Bunnings) to keep cables neat around the back of the desk, while velcro strips (Dick Smith) wrap around groups of cables around the synths to maintain neat looms.

Benefits of Using a Corner Desk Furniture
A corner desk is very useful, as it can make a functional workspace out of a once unused corner. It maximizes the space, especially in a room with a very small area. It makes it easy to set up a small room by making use of the space in the corner. Thus, it is a perfect solution to every person who has a small room with empty corners.
A corner desk is perfectly made to fit into every space and corner of the room. It is beneficial to students who live in small dorms and to businesses with small work areas. It provides them with more floor space to walk around and move freely in. Thus, it allows more space to do other things. Small spaces with corners will no longer be a problem to deal with. Not only does using a corner desk maximize space, but it provides a lot of functions for many different people. They are available in different styles that can accommodate whatever the person needs. A once abandoned area can become a very useful and busy one. It can be a great work area and not just a decorative addition to the corner of the room.
Corner desks are made to fit any angle of the room, so as to make use of the space. This is important for a lot of people, especially those who live, or work, in a small room. The desk can also be designed to meet the needs of the person using it, just like any other table. If it is for a business who rented a small space, it can be used to create more work area for the employees to move and work in. For students' use, especially those who are living in small sized dorms, a corner desk allows space for free movement and also provides an area to place books and other school materials. If computers are used, there are desks that are designed to accommodate the computer housing, monitor, keyboard, and other accessories. It may even have additional compartments to place other things. Not only that, it is perfect for home use, as well. It provides a lot of benefits, especially to stay-at-home moms. They can use it as a place for their hobbies, like sewing, while providing lots of space for children to play around. Hence, it is fully functional, while making use of every space the room has.
A Corner Desk is very much needed in areas with angles and small spaces. It is functional and meets every need of an individual, as well. Other than that, it can be used as room decor. There are designs available to go along well with any room environment.Learn More about benefit of corner desk at spammy mc spamwhamy

^^^ Haha... Totally spam, but kudos to being reasonably on-topic, even if a corner desk ain't that ideal for music making, as it either pushes the speakers out too wide, or if only using one side of both speakers, then one has to watch out they're not pushing one speaker into a room corner.
