So, I reach one of those crossroads in my life where I just don't know what to do.
The rest of my life pivots on this decision.
My Red Dongle (sexytime) gives me access to both Nuendo and Cubase 4.
And they're sitting in a folder 2 foot away from me. (Finally)
I've chucked C4 Studio on my laptop, sweet. But what for the studio? Any Nuendo users out there?
I could always put both on and write a few choons with each I spose...
Oh, on a different topic, I electrocuted myself last nite @ a gig (unplugging my own denon, and it hasn't been tagged) and now my left arm has pins and needles.
This isn't the first time i've been zapped, just the first time with the tinglies... anyone?

Yikes! Did you get checked out by a doctor? Good luck with that!
As for the Cubase/Nuendo debate, I will say every time: unless you work in post-production, need full surround codec abilities or you run a studio and want a "big name" app to impress clients, always go with Cubase. Cubase has everything a musician needs for $400 less, and right now, C4 has shit that Nuendo doesn't, so it's got a leg up on Nuendo now, in terms of sheer flashy-ness. Especially the cooler effects, synths, HALion One, etc.
I gotta ask: what's a "red dongle" that gives you access to Nuendo and Cubase 4?

Yea, iv been zapped many a time ... The electricity runs through you and wreacks havoc with your nerves and cartelage fluids .. It will come back in a day or so .... I zapped my self so bad once all my finger nails went black and I could hardly bend my arm.
As for the CUbase/Nuendo issue .. Id say go for Cubase mate ... It can handle everything you can throw at it and you're already using it from memory ... Cubase for the win ..

After having a play on both, I've decided to go the Nuendo road.
Coz it lets me use my DX plugs.

To extrapolate
My new pc gets here in a few weeks, that can have Cubase4 as my main sequencer, i'll syslink the (now) Nuendo box with my beloved dx plugs and use it as an instrument/fx rack, best of both worlds! - my lappie has C4 Studio and Wavelab 6 Studio on it
To answer the "What is this Red Key?" question, all Steinberg Resellers get a copy of the Steinberg Catalogue (complete with every update) - basically a big grey cd folder with one of everything init! And if a new thing comes out (a 'la Sequel), it gets a new page in the folder. (Its even got the DTS Encoders ffs)
The blue dongle/key is the standard 'get it with the box' copy protection that holds licences for products purchased on it. That big grey folder (worth a pretty penny i can assure you) has one in the front cover for the computers at the shop.
And there's one in the studio for me

That red-key makes sense now, that is most wonderful for you! All that wicked Steinberg stuff...I do want to strangle you a little bit...

how is C4 for stability/bugs now? i havent really looked into it much, but have seen random things about people having problems.
also, if i buy C4, does it come with a mac version as well? or do you have to get a seperate vers for mac? im thinking of switching to macs for good, but know cubase best and don't really want to have to spend my time learning how to do stuff in logic.

I can't answer for the bugs, but word on the street is that it's pretty good since the last update, and this is the usual story for any Steinberg new release, I've seen it unfold 3 times now.
But I can answer the second question: yes, you do get the Mac and PC version in the box, so you can switch if you like.
