OK... hooked up the Korg DSS1 for the first time via MIDI and I can't seem to trigger it to play sounds via any software. ???
I've used MIDI-OX to see if MIDI IN/OUT are both working and that seems to be OK. I've tried MIDI-Quest but it doesn't seem to play nice as it wont rip out any patches or upload anything. I've removed all traces of my drivers for the Oxygen8 just in case there was MIDI feedback etc... and am just plain stuck.
Ports seem to match up as when I play a note it happily plays it from the synth itself over to soundcard and it picks up the IN/OUT.... I was trying to use a MIDI OUT in FL Studio to trigger the synth and the recording the sound.... NO JOY :*(

Dude,
I dunno much about FL but I 'm thinkin midi channels here. Delve deeper into FL midi prefs, theres bound to be something not right in there.

It's not just floops m8.... it also in MIDI-OX and MidiQuest.

Do you have a hardware controller or sequencer you can hook the dss1 directly up to and manually check all 16 channels? it may only want to recieve on certain ch's. I have an old sequencer that does this. Also the old korgs had some omni /on/off aswell, does the dss1 have this? If so you have to have this off from memory. I have a look at my dw6000 tonight and check with that one though.

Connecting DSS1 directly to a Terratec DMX6Fire breakout box for MIDI and haven't got a hardware sequencer so can't do that one. When playing playing notes from the synths keyboard and showing up on channel 1 for both MIDI in/out when I checked using MIDI-OX
Have tried switching OMNI on and off and there isn't any difference. Also tried playing with LOCAL set to both on and off.
I've tried loading up LOGIC on the PC to see if I can trigger it that way, but I'll have to do some reading up on Logic as I only ever use that for software synths.
