Just got an email about the new Internal Mixing Instructional DVDs from Steinberg

Steinberg Internal Mixing Vol.1 -  RRP $99.99
Steinberg Internal Mixing Vol.2 -  RRP $99.99

Internal Mixing is a platform-independent course about mixing multitrack recordings within a PC or Mac. The step-by-step approach to mixing will guide the user through a variety of techniques used by professional engineers to achieve the clarity and transparency often heard on commercially available CDs and DVDs. Internal Mixing uncovers the concepts behind proper placement of instruments within the mix. A powerful, yet three-dimensional sound is not achieved by usage of tons of expensive plug-ins but by clever separation of instruments and voices. Even without using expensive outboard gear, an excellent production quality can be achieved just by making educated use of the host application’s internal plug-ins. The user is guided step by step through theoretical concepts behind good mixes through organizing the workflow to the application of widely-used plug-ins like EQ and compressors. Internal Mixing also covers the usage of DSP-based plug-ins and offline rendered plug-ins, e.g. for convolution reverb. The DVD course also offers a huge range of tips for the more experienced user, supporting and extending existing knowledge through providing deepened theoretical understanding and valuable advice for improving workflow. Internal Mixing provides a series of exercises to help practice the concepts explained, supporting and cementing added
knowledge. Each exercise guides the user to the desired result to make working through the chapters a rewarding and satisfying experience. Internal Mixing was filmed in HD-Video using the latest codec technology to bring the quality on to the DVD.

That looks like a good course! After watching that Charles Dye one - which I was hugely skeptical about - I'd love to see one done specifically for Cubase. Even though I've been doing this for awhile, I found the Dye one quite interesting and inspiring, so I'm open to mixing tutorials. Sometimes you need a kick in the box!  ;D
