Lovely setup, but whats with the trainers on top of your monitors. Early morning jog?

*sigh* just looking through this thread ... Sadly, my studio is now reduced to a single 13" laptop on my couch. Iv no room for any gear, or even a desk to set my self up on with a descent sized monitor and mouse.

Big change from Sydney where I had an entire room dedicated to my studio.

What made you move from roomy Sydney to cramped London town?

I notice that you have those acoustic panels put up, how are the acoustics in the studio?

Ha yes, well actually, stumbled across them in a dumpster at our ol' place we lived at, in a shoe box, immaculate, appeared to be worn just once. Shame they're a tiny Size 5 or something. But cool, nonetheless.

And seemingly worth a bit of money still (USD$72 new):

Seriously love to hear a recording of the score you guys are performing if you get the chance to wrangle it from the FOH guy.

Heya Fu,

Finally gonna get my hands on the DVD this weekend, captured during one of the final shows. I saw a screening of it at the cast party, and the sound quality appears to be a real blow. I've had people tell me this was just the sound rig at the screening, but I'm not sure.

Main contributors being:

- those with any considerable mixing experience tied up performing in the show itself (hey, the joy of amateur theatre on a budget!);
- the orchestra on the whole was un-mic'ed;
- an insistence to rely on (upgraded) on-camera mics, rather than a direct field from the desk. Apparently they've done the desk only thing in the past and it sounded crap(???). Or maybe they failed to capture the un-mic'ed sounds (so missing a lot of critical stuff) when doing it this way in the past?

Now I could be wrong, and the desk output may have been mixed into the mic'ed sounds, and the DVD may actually sound OK, but not having a fully-mic'ed orchestra was certainly challenging as far as projecting a full, balanced sound into the theatre goes.

Anyway, I'll let you know how it was once I get the DVD, and maybe able to get some footage or audio to you somehow...
