  1. Hi guys. I have recently moved my studio. When i have gone to start up, everything is working except the sound card. which is a Motu 828mk3. The device loads up as normal and is sending signal to the speakers because i can hear them pop, howevre the software doesnt load on the computer, which should load the MOTU Audio Setup. it seems as though it is the fire wire port on the MOTU that is un oporational. I have tested my cable and it works with an external firewire drive. I have also pluged in my laptop to the MOTU 828mk3 and still had no response. In the move there was no issues withe the device and it was transported inside a road case, securely rack mounted. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be the problem? without the soundcard my studio is rendered practically useless. Please I am desperate as I cant aford to replace this device at the moment. Thank you
  2. nice one. some real good ideas in there !
  3. Really bad news. Anthony was a genuinely nice guy. peace be with you.
  4. hey guys I was wondering if anyone knows anything about Production Music? no not music production. the music owned by production music libraries and licensed to customers for use in film, television, radio and other media. any info would be useful as i don't know much. but here are some questions to start with. do many people do it for an income locally? is there a specific formula the companies that release libraries are looking for? should you look at over seas markets? can you put released tracks in a library? if you know anything? if you could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. any way...cheers
  5. thanks man pink noise dont have any listed on their hire list? that's who I checked first. might do the old fashioned thing and call them!
  6. Hey Guys Does anyone know where, in Melbourne, i could hire a good mic pre amp for the weekend? thanks
  7. I saw those guitars...they even had colored ones a pink one would be nice they even have guitar effect pedals for 29 bucks...fully sick http://www.lasoo.com.au/offer/guitars-bass-string-instruments/livingstone-semi-acoustic-guitar/4hzvjz6x9.html I would be wary of anything from Aldi, if there food produce quality is anything to go by. Those guitars are made from plywood. not so good. I would suggest a nylon string guitar or classical guitar. Or if you wont a semi acoustic look out for the brand Cort. they are good for beginners and reasonably priced. http://www.guitar.com.au/guitars/acoustic/cort/index.htm Will cost ya more than the Aldi thing but will last a lifetime if you look after it. try doing a search on ebay for a nylon string guitar. I did one the other day and came up with a few around $70-300 for some ok quality for a learner...probably better quality than the Aldi one. The thing to remember is even if you are learning, a crap instrument could be more trouble than its worth. I mean if you get an instrument that sounds bad or is hard to play your inspiration to learn and practice may be put off.
  8. Howdy Punks I am working on a project that has presented a problem that i am not sure how to fix. it is mixing sound for a documentary. there is a short part of audio during an interview that has lots of back ground noise and it really jumps out during playback. I have tried a few things to rectify and have not worked out a solution. I have used an expander on the part. which didn't seem to work. I have tried noise removal plugs such as izotope RX and waves art mr noise and have also give soundtrack pro a go as well. All the plug ins did was create a Gibbs type effect on the audio, kind of like a low compressed mp3. if you guys have any suggestions for solutions to this problem I would love to know. Thanks guys and take it easy

  11. I was just about to order an APC 40 : Now Im not to sure. The only thing I like apc40 better is the faders and knobs. But price and size and bus power and use with other software sounds pretty good.
