So iv been working away on a project lately, although the other day Ableton just crashed out on me, when I tried to re-open the app and open my project up again it fails.

The DAW works fine on anything else other than my current project , so it appears to have corrupted it somehow,  does anyone know how to fix this ?  Id hate to think iv just lost all my work.

Hmmm ..  I may have fixed the problem,  for anyone else that has this problem , heres what I did.

1) removed all the sample and audio data files out of the project "Imported" directory, to some random place like the desktop.
2) started up ableton, opened my project, of course it freaks out and complains that none of the files are there, tell it to search the desktop for the files, it scans and find them , then rebuilds its cache.
3) save the project, close ableton.  move the sample and audio data files back into the projects "Imported" samples folder.
4) open ableton and the project again, it will complain again , this time point to back to the imported folder, rescan , and rebuild cache.  seems to work now.

Important Note For Windows 7 Users
Permissions seem to be a real hassle with Ableton, so when you open the application, make sure you right click on its icon and select "Run As Administrator".

I've had the same issue with the occasional project, I will try this.
